Description

12" Diameter Stainless Steel Domed False Bottom. Convert a brew pot or cooler into a mash tun. Fits any of our 9, 15, and 19 gallon brew pots. Also fits in 10 gallon Rubbermaid coolers (very tightly). Constructed from 304 stainless steel these false bottoms will not float. Dome height is 1/2". Comes with 3/8" barbed 90° stainless steel elbow hose fitting in the center to draw the wort from beneath the dome.

What size false bottom? A Domed False Bottom seats differently then a straight walled one. The outside dome sits on the bottom and acts as the seal to stop grains and hop material from getting through. As long as your inner diameter is longer then the length of the false bottom (distance across the inside) it will work. False Bottom's are a popular filtering system for keggles, coolers, and pots.

Problem with adapter kit July 21, 2014
Reviewer: Greg Christie from Toronto , ON Canada
It's been mentioned before, I just want to re-iterate it.  It comes with a 3/8" barbed elbow, and the optional adapter kit is all 1/2".  If you order the adapter kit like I did, you also need to go into the "Stainless Steel Hardware" section and order a 1/2" close nipple, a Street elbow, and an FPT to Barbed adapter.  Another $12.  Suddenly not so great a deal.  But when It costs over $60 after you order the parts for the workaround, this thing better work flawlessly.  Heck, the screen isn't even a problem.  It looks like It'll work fine.  But I wouldn't know, because I can't hook it up as it was shipped to me, also missing a stainless hose clamp.

Good value, but.... November 19, 2013
Reviewer: d66mwm from St. John's, NL
The false bottom itself is a good value. I don't think it can be beat to be honest. It works as it should.
The only negative is that the false bottom adapter assembly comes with 1/2" barb on the outlet side, and a 1/2" hose. However, the false bottom comes with a 3/8" barb. It doesn't make sense to supply an adapter assembly hose that doesn't correctly fit the false bottom outlet. It's not too difficult to work around, but it is a bit silly.

Best way to filter your mash September 27, 2013
Reviewer: Guillaume Charbonneau from sainte Victoire de Sorel, QC Canada
i just love the way this false bottom work in my sanke keg. i did replaced the 90 degree fitting with a street elbow. it help getting the flow just right with a brew pump. I would also recommend using a SS coupler to lower the point where the liquid get sucked up inside the elbow fitting. I would recommend this false bottom to anyone who is planning to do a HERMS setup.
Thanks again.
