Brewing beer requires several processes which include boiling. Boiling is a necessary step in making beer because it is responsible for releasing the flavours of the hops and also sterilizing the wort from pathogens that may adversely affect the flavour of the beer.

While commercial breweries use large vats, home brewers can use brewing pots to brew small batches of beer. This graduated stainless steel brew pot is made from a 200 Series 22-gauge stainless steel which is a good material for brewing beer. The pot does not come with a tri-clad bottom. Stainless steel does not induct heat readily at the bottom thus the wort boils slower. Although this may be the case, the wort does not easily caramelize at the bottom which can scorch the pot.

The pot features a polished stainless steel external surface for a more sophisticated look. The pot also features graduated markings that are stamped on the interior of the kettle that allows home brewers to easily determine the exact volume of the wort. This omits the need for home brewers to transfer the wort to a measuring cup or the use of a sight glass just to painstakingly determine its volume. For even brewing, the pot comes with a strong and sturdy lid that can keep the heat constantly circulating inside the pot.

If you are using the pot for the first time, clean the pot by scrubbing it aggressively to expose the stainless steel and remove any possible coating used on the interior surface of the pot. This is to ensure that the new pot will not produce any off flavours.

We recommend you purchase this product by itself. Shipping items inside the pot increases chances of damage during shipping. We will of course ship items inside a pot if you want. But we can not assume liability for damage if you choose to do so.
