Stainless Steel Weldless Bazooka Kit (2 Piece)

Using a bazooka screen is another option for separating the wort from the trub and sediment. It acts as a sieve to prevent the sediments and hops mash from incorporating with the wort. There are different types of bazooka screens that are available for home brewers and choosing one depends on what pots/brew kettles/mash tuns you currently have.

For instance, if you have already installed a 2-piece full port valve, then opting for a 2-piece stainless steel weldless bazooka kit is a good choice. This particular bazooka screen is designed to fit any standard 2-piece full port valve. The mesh comes with a 304-grade stainless steel construction thus it is very durable even if it appears flimsy. The mesh is very fine which prevents the sediments from getting through.

It is ideal to use this kit as a filter screen for your brewing kettle or mash tun. This bazooka kit also comes with a 12" stainless steel BSP thread and clamp for easy installation. It is 12-inches long thus it can fit bigger brewing kettles. The secret to collecting clear wort with a bazooka screen is that everything should be free of any leaks. Thus, this kit also comes with heat-resistant silicone seals to keep the screen securely fastened to the port valve.

However, just like any other bazooka screens, this can easily get clogged up especially if pellet hops are used. To remove the debris that has attached to the mesh, remove the entire bazooka screen and run it through a steady stream of water. Moreover, use leaf hops instead of pellet hops to avoid such problems in the future.
