These 3-gallon malt extract homebrew beer kits have been designed and packaged for the beginner to the intermediate brewer. Some of these recipe kits may contain specialty grains, Belgian candi syrup and/or lactose.

We have included the estimated AVB, recipes and instructions on all of our malt extract kits, and as with all of our OBK beer recipe kits, the ingredients are not picked and packaged until your order has been placed and is ready to ship.

You may wonder what malt extract is - it is a product that is produced after what is called mashing. Malting starts with germinating barley grains; once they begin to sprout, the barley is then dried to stop additional sprouting. It is now that the grains are 'mashed' during a boil to bring out the starches and sugars. The 'wort' produced from this mashing is then concentrated to produce the malt extract, which comes in liquid (LME) form, or it may be dried further to resemble ordinary sugar become dry malt extract. (DME).
