There are many ways to strain hops from the boil kettle. Some home brewers use conventional methods such as straining the mixture to separate the hops and sediments from the wort. However, this takes a lot of time and energy.

Using the right equipment or tools is really helpful in separating the wort from any wayward grains and hops, and this can be done by using false bottoms, dip tubes and bazooka screens. There are many ways to collect the wort and among these devices include the stainless steel weldless bazooka kit.

This bazooka kit comes with the option of a 6" or 12" tube screen with a diameter of an inch. It is made from high grade 304 stainless steel construction thus it is not only durable but also rust-proof. The bazooka tube screen is an ideal hop strainer in boil kettles that have diameters longer than 12 inches. It can be used to convert a simple brew kettle into a mash tun so that you can extend its use during the lautering and sparging process. It can also be used to filter the wort in a counter flow chiller.

The mesh is made by weaving 16 small stainless steel wires every inch to create a 0.45mm2 area for each individual square. This effectively strains the wort from sediments and pellets. To avoid clogging the mesh, using whole hops is recommended. The bazooka screen is attached to the back of a bulkhead through the male NPT thread. This allows for easy removal of the screen for cleanup.

Stainless Steel Weldless Bulkhead
Select this option for wall thickness 1/4" and less. This is the configuration we use on all our pots and Igloo coolers.

Select this option for wall thickness between 1/4 "and 5/8".

Select this option for wall thickness between 5/8" and 1".

Works Great - Legendary Customer Service.

Had a bit of a problem installing this on my Igloo 400 Series cooler (Yellow one). It initially seamed that there was not enough threads on the 1 SS nipple that was provided. I contacted OBK by email on a Sunday and Patrick provided legendary customer service (Like i have never seen). After emailing back and forth a few times it was identified that the large seal provided shouldn't be used on the cooler. Everything worked perfectly after the extra seal was removed. Patrick even followed up with a phone call to make sure I got it working. Support is priceless. Why would anyone shop anywhere else.

Works Great With 5 Gallon Round Cooler

I bought this to go along with the Home Depot 5 gallon cooler. I probably would have just gone 100% OBK for this, but I had already sourced out the kettle.I was trying to source out the parts too, but after needing to go to 3-4 different hardware stores it was costing about the same as just going with the OBK option. Another benefit is OBK does it right, the quality of the parts was definitely better than than what I was putting together and its using the right parts.

Worked perfectly with my coleman cooler. Mash drained very well and brew went very smoothly.

Installs Easily On Rubbermaid 10 Gal Round Cooler

I bought this kit with the cooler bulkhead option to install on my 10 gallon rubbermaid water cooler. It turns out that I didn't need the cooler option, and if I would have read the product description carefully enough, I would have known that.If you make the same mistake that I did, add the large o-ring, the two washers, and the 2 nipple to your parts collection. You won't need them.This fits the 10 gallon rubbermaid cooler perfectly.

All you need is the cooler. Ready to install and easy to use. Bazooka screen is strong and easy to clean.
