OBK Abbey Ale (3.25 US Gal)
This all-grain beer recipe kit is a malt forward, moderate strength Belgian-Style Ale. The addition of the Abbey Malt to the Pilsner base gives this a slightly sweet flavour and fuller body while retaining the dry, quenching characteristics commonly found with Belgian beer. Little to no hop flavour or aroma. Mild fruity flavours balance the malty sweetness from ester production in the yeast.

A clean yet robust and complex brew full of rich malt, noble hops and subtle fruity esters. Assertive bitterness well balanced by a sturdy, crisp malt character. Malt presence is rich and complex, while the yeast provides the fruity esters. Deep copper in colour, just short of brown.
OBK Amber Lager (3.25 US Gal)
This lager is a malt forward, European-Style lager. Full-bodied but crisp. This refreshing lager features crystal and brown malts for flavours and aromas of bread, toffee and caramel with a hint of nuttiness. Specialty grains give this brew a deep Amber/Red colour in appearance. Medium-alpha hops added to the beginning of the boil for a moderate bitterness. The European lager yeast provides a subtle fruitiness.
OBK Amber Wheat Ale (3.25 US Gal)
A hybrid of Amber and Wheat beer. Plenty of malt character for lots of caramel and bready flavours, combined with wheat malt for a fuller body and longer lasting head. Crystal malt adds a moderate sweetness, but balanced with mild bitterness. A late American hop addition for a punch of citrus flavour and aroma.
OBK American Amber Ale (3.25 US Gal)
Moderate hop aromas are citrusy from the American hop character, balanced with a caramel aroma from the malts used. Flavour is balanced with the same citrusy hop flavours coinciding with the subtle malt sweetness from the steeping grains. Hop bitterness is in check for the style. This brew is like an American Pale ale but with more caramel richness and more American hop character.

A very rich and intense maltiness combined with an assertive hop character which showcases citrusy and resiny American hop varieties. Malt character is caramel, sweet and bready. Aggressive bitterness, yet a full-bodied and velvety texture. A rich and complex American strong ale.
OBK American Brown Ale (3.25 US Gal)
This brew is malty, slightly sweet and rich with aromas of chocolate, caramel, and a pleasant toastiness. Hop aroma is there, but as a complementing background aroma of floral and citrus. Malty nuttiness in the flavour combined with robust chocolate character with a medium bitterness.

A decidedly bitter and hoppy, moderately strength pale ale. Aroma is a prominent citrus, resinous pine aroma with some clean malt sweetness coming through. Flavour is intense hop flavours from American hops, citrus, fruity, grapefruit and pine. Excellent bitterness.
OBK American Pale Ale (3.25 US Gal)
A hoppy and refreshing ale with a clean malt flavour. Strong aromas of citrus and grapefruit. Flavour is the same citrus and grapefruit and a underlying subtle sweetness from the caramel malt steeping grains. Caramel flavour is restrained just enough to let the hops shine through.
OBK American Stout (3.25 US Gal)
Aroma is coffee-like roast and hints of chocolate and floral/citrus hops. Flavour is roasted grain, coffee, chocolate, caramel, and a mild bitterness. Overall a very dark, roasty, creamy ale.
OBK Belgian Blond Ale (3.25 US Gal)
A moderate-strength golden ale that has a subtle Belgian complexity., slightly sweet flavour, and dry finish. Flavour is smooth and light initially, comparative to a Pilsner, but finishes dry with some medium hop flavours of floral and earthy. Some soft yeast character will be present as well, esters produced are orange/lemon-like. Aromas are much of the same classic Belgian floral, fruity esters.
OBK Belgian Dubbel (3.25 US Gal)
A deep reddish/brown, moderately strength complex Belgian ale. Dubbel's contain rich, complex flavours from a malty body. Sweetness on the palate yet finishes moderately dry. Complex malt, and yeast esters produce slightly raisiny flavours as well as flavours of dried fruit, clove and a hint of burnt sugars. Balance is always toward the malt with little to no hop flavour. Medium bitterness that doesn't persist into the finish.
OBK Belgian IPA (3.25 US Gal)
An American-styled IPA with a Belgian twist. Combining hops used in both popular American and Belgian beer styles, the end result is a beautiful bouquet of citrus and floral flavour and aromas. Backed up with a moderate bitterness and a lightly toasty and caramel malt backbone. The Belgian yeast will increase the fruity esters in the aromatics.
OBK Belgian Quad (3.25 US Gal)
A very complex, rich, dark and strong Belgian ale. Layers of malty sweetness and significant esters founds in the flavour profile. The combination of a Belgian ale yeast and the Belgian Candi Syrup lead to fruity flavours ranging from raisin, plum, dried cherry, fig and prune notes. Spicy phenols may also be present. This brew provides alcohol warmth and has a beautiful deep amber to coppery-brown appearance. Smooth & dangerous.

OBK Chocolate Milk Stout (3.25 US Gal)
A very dark, rich and creamy ale. This stout combines both the bitter and smooth characteristics of chocolate using a range of roasted grains, smoothed out with the addition of lactose (milk sugar). Subtle background notes of caramel and coffee gives it more complexity. A thick, full-bodied brew.
OBK Cream Ale (3.25 US Gal)
An ale version of the classic American lager style. Pale straw in colour, this style of beer is light and crisp. A smooth mouthfeel and higher carbonation leads to a thirst quenching finish. Faint malt notes can be found in the aroma, as well as sweet, corn-like aromas. A low bitterness beer and moderate maltiness, neither the hops or malt will prevail in the taste. Subtle fruity esters can be detected dependent on fermentation temperature.

A style that pushes the envelope in the need to satisfy any hop-head. This stronger, hoppier than normal IPA is bursting with a complex array of hop flavours and aromas. Notes of grapefruit, citrus, pine and more. Malt flavour is restrained to a simple grain bill adding only the minimal needed for a subtle caramel backbone. A clean ale strain lets the hops shine. A long, lingering bitterness is present and the finish dry, and clean.
OBK Dunkelweizen (3.25 US Gal)
A moderately dark, spicy, fruity, malty and refreshing wheat-based ale. This style of ale best reflects the yeast and wheat character of a Hefeweizen, but with the addition of malty richness of a Munich Dunkel. Notes of clove and banana from the yeast phenols and fruity esters, balanced but prominent. The malt character is bready/grainy with hints of vanilla and caramel. Very little hop character. Medium bodied, aided with higher carbonation for a creamy fullness.

OBK Kolsch (3.25 US Gal)
This style is an appellation protected by the Kölsch Konvention, and is restricted to the 20 or so breweries in and around Cologne. The Konvention simply defines the beer as a "light, highly attenuated, hop-accentuated, clear-fermenting Vollbier."

OBK Witbier (3.25 US Gal)
A refreshing, elegant, tasty, moderate-strength wheat based ale. Pale straw in colour, this beer will be very cloudy from starch haze and yeast, which gives it a milky, whitish-yellow appearance. Dense, white, moussy head. A medium-light bodied ale with a smooth creaminess from the wheat, although finishes dry. Flavours are light, slightly grainy with wheat aromatics. Coriander and orange peel bring a citrusy orangey fruitiness.
