This Duotight BlowTie Diaphragm Spunding Valve is suitable for gas or liquid. It is constructed out of non corrosive acetyl, nitrile, and stainless components. At the base of the spunding valve are two mounting points allowing it to be securely attached to wherever you desire.

The intended use for this valve is to reduce the pressure of your gas or liquid lines. You can use it to lower the CO2 pressure going into a keg, or use it to reduce the main water pressure to anywhere between 0-40 PSI.

Poppet style spunding valves work by having a spring push against a poppet to keep the valve closed. When the poppet lifts to open, the surface area in which the gas has to push against increases. This results in the spring having to work harder to push the poppet down to reseal the valve. This may cause more gas to release than desired, lowering the pressure in your vessel.

Diaphragm spunding valves on the other hand provide a far more accurate way to control the pressure in your vessel. This accuracy is gained by having the spring push against a diaphragm which has a much larger surface area than a poppet. Having the surface area in both the open or closed position be far closer in size allows for smoother and more accurate adjustments. The remaining pressure after releasing the excess gas will be much closer to your set blow off pressure.

Duotight fittings are designed to work by simply pushing in the compatible tubing.

Inside each fitting are dual EPDM o-rings that provide superior sealing capacity due to having twice the sealing surface area when compared to other push in fittings. This makes Duotight fittings even more reliable and significantly reduces the chance of a leak.

For optimal performance it is recommended that when cutting your tubing it is cut straight, not on an angle, this helps to ensure a complete seal.

Meant to be used with 5/16" OD (8mm) Polyethylene Tubing.
