AU Helga Hop Pellets 1 LB

Beer is made from water, malted barley, yeast, hops, and a few other optional ingredients. These four ingredients are important in creating excellent beers. Hops are very important in making beer because it adds a distinct bitter flavour to the finished product. Without it, all beers will end up having an almost identical taste. The hop is what gives beer its aroma and bitterness.

The AU Helga hop pellets are one of the hops used by many home brewers. It was developed in Australia in 1986 using the famous German cultivar Hallertau Mittelfrueh. However, it almost does not have any similar aroma to its European relative. In fact, it provides a subtle herb and delicate floral aroma that is reminiscent of fresh fruit yogurt, Darjeeling tea, and pungent basil.

Due to its strong aroma, the AU Helga hop pellets are used in creating American ales as well as Australian ales and lagers. These particular hop pellets contain between 4.9% and 7.3% Alpha Acids while its Beta Acid value is between 5% and 7%. The total cohumulone value of this particular hop pellets are from 20% and 30%. This means that the hops only provide a moderate bitter flavour to the final brew.

Available in 1-lb packaging, the AU Helga Hop Pellets can be used to create large batches of brew. Make sure to store it in a cool and dark place so that the hops will retain the potency of its Alpha Acids and cohumulone even after a few months of opening the package.
