Altbier (5.25 US Gal) Extract Kit with Specialty Grains

A bitter but well balanced malty, clean smooth and well attenuated copper coloured German-style ale. Typically fermented at cooler temperatures than most ales, this brew has a crisp malt character and assertive hop bitterness. A long lasting, dry, bittersweet and nutty finish. Low hop flavour and restrained fruity esters from yeast.

5 of 5 Very Nice! January 26, 2020
Reviewer: Sven Richtmann from Mississauga, ON
This one turned out great after 3 weeks in primary and 2 weeks in the bottle. It's fairly true to the Altbier style, made famous in Duesseldorf, Germany. It has a nice balance of bitterness and a malty, nutty character, like the description says.
I'll definitely be trying this one again!

5 of 5 Altbier February 27, 2018
Reviewer: Vincent Bibeau from Brighton, ON Canada
Never had an Altbier before buying this, it was on sale so figured I'd try it. 3 weeks on primary and 2 weeks in the keg I gave it the first try. It was a pretty good beer but there was something missing. Dry hopped 1 oz for 7 days of citra and there it was!! Now a regular on tap!

5 of 5 Fantastic beer July 17, 2016
Reviewer: Tim Knowles from Mississauga, ON Canada
A very good extract brew that represents the style of beer well. Finishes dark and sweet and is well suited to an extra couple of weeks in secondary fermentation if you can afford the time. I was in a rush and bottled after 2 weeks in primary and it still tasted great.
