OBK Keg Conversion Kits

Our Kegerator kits come fully assembled! Many homebrewers choose to start kegging their craft creations at some point in this hobby, for some it's after many lengthy bottling days, for others it could be right from the start. But eventually, all are curious about serving delicious homemade beer from the garage, basement bar or anywhere else you can think to put a kegerator or keezer. For those wary of difficulty level, after having it all assembled and in front of you, you'll realize how simple it can really be. Most find kegging your beer actually easier than bottling, and takes a fraction of the time it takes to bottle a batch.

Introduction

*Note: The two main styles of Cornelius kegs are Ball Lock (Pepsi Kegs) & Pin Lock (Coke Kegs). They are a different type of connection, so if you have already found some used kegs, find out which type of keg you have before choosing your connection.

  • For cleaning and sanitizing your best bet is with Five Star products. Powdered Brewery Wash (PBW) is a great cleaner which will remove almost anything with a proper mixture of warm water. To sanitize, rinse out your PBW and pour in a solution of Star San. Star San needs very little contact time and is a no-rinse sanitizer.
  • Other items you may need: Keg lube -- helps hold a tight seal with the o-rings on your keg. Extra o-rings & poppets -- always a good idea to have back-ups. Manifold (Gas Distributors) -- if you will be splitting your CO2 source to multiple kegs, a manifold is the preferred method.

I bought myself one of these with the five pound tank as a post-Christmas present for myself. I love it! If you've been thinking about kegging and want to give it a try without a huge investment, buy this. I easily see everything from this being used as I upgrade to more tanks in the future.

This is what I used for building my kegerator, drill 2 holes in fridge door, screw in the taps and shanks which came pre-assembled in this package and BAM! you're ready to go. I chose to upgrade to Perlick taps because they look better are a lot less work for cleaning and they never drip.
