Bayou Classic Cast Iron High Pressure Burner [SP10]
Bayou Classic SP10 Burner
Alternative Views:

This Bayou Classic burner is made out of cast iron and features a fully welded frame.

Integrated into the frame is the 360° Windscreen Protection. It is designed to protect from wind and ensure a steady and consistent flame.

The 14" diameter cooking surface supports pots/kettles with a minimum diameter of 12" and up to 102 quarts in size.

Included with the burner is an adjustable 10 PSI regulator and a 4' stainless steel braided hose.

It is taller than most standard burners and features a high-powered 4" ring burner. At full blast it can theoretically pump out 185,000 BTU. More conservative test methods rate this burner at 60,000 BTU.

Any way you count the BTUs, lots of people use these burners to boil 5, 10, and 15 gallon batches so in the real world they're plenty hot!

This little monster has risen straight from the depths of hell!  So much power at a great price!  Had a $60 burner from Costco and was glad to upgrade to this one for not much more.  Be careful with the rage boil on this one though, you could boil off 2-3 gallons in an hour easily

5 of 5 Fastest brew time May 28, 2015

I've used other burners (eg: Canadian Tire ones) that take a while to bring the water up to strike temp. This burner took practically no time at all.

I have no real complaints, but be prepared for two things:

1) The paint burns off the first time you use this burner (the instructions warn of this). It is smoky, and it stinks. Neighbours likely thought my house was burning down. It lasted about 10 mins.

2) It rips through propane, so have extra on hand. This is to be expected with such high BTUs.
