Belgian Golden Strong Ale (5.25 US Gal) Extract Kit

A golden, complex, effervescent, strong Belgian-style ale. Fruity and spicy in flavour with subtle hints of alcohol is the style. Supported by a soft malt character and displays flavours and aromas of pears and oranges from the yeast's fruity esters. Alcohol's are soft and spicy. Mild bitterness and a fruity, earthy, and floral finish from the hops.

4 of 5 Exactly as described April 11, 2018
Reviewer: Jack from Edmonton, AB Canada
It's good - all the flavours, aromas, malt profile is as described.  I fell short of the attenuation from the T58 that is suggested in the recipe despite doing a yeast starter and doubling the quantity of yeast.  As a result, I think mine ended up a little more malty than it was supposed to be.  OG 1.080, FG 1.024, fermented @ 18C.

Simple and enjoyable sipper, did dry hop with Golding's hops as well for 4 days and did a very good amount of yeast, 1.100 O.G., F.G. was 1.022, next time I do this one be changing the yeast from northeastern Abby to the dry Belgian ale from yeast bay
