Stainless Steel Camlocks

The quick connection portion of the camlock system consists of male and female parts. The male camlock is a cylinder with an external concave recess around the circumference and a front sealing face. Once inserted into the female coupling, a set of cammed arms is drawn back to pressure the male's recess. Once the cammed arms are in place, the parts are locked together, and this holds the male's sealing face tight to the captured gasket.

Ultimately, it is up to the user, but most people choose to use the male camlocks on the fixed brewery components and install the female camlocks on the movable parts like hoses. The reason for this is so that the movable cam arms have room to swing.
