Wort Chillers & Immersion Coils
Whether immersion, plate or counterflow, stainless steel or copper, purchasing a wort chiller could be one of the most important homebrewing investments. Why? There are a few reasons for investing in a wort chiller, and we will tell you a couple of them.
Once you have boiled your wort for the recommended amount of time, it is imperative to bring it down to yeast pitching temperature as quickly as possible. Off flavours, contamination and "cold break" can occur if you have not done this stage of brewing correctly. There are different options for cooling your wort, an ice bath or setting it out in a snowbank (if you live in a cold climate). The easiest, quickest and safest way is using a wort chiller.
We have several different options to choose from when it comes to selecting a wort chiller. We suggest that you ask fellow brewers what they use, or do some research on different brewing forums. Using a wort chiller negates the need to try and move a large pot of scalding liquid to another area.
Our copper and stainless steel immersion wort chiller coils are Made in Canada and come with different fittings.
We also have a selection of chiller coils and DIY kits for you to make a wort chiller. We only recommend that those mechanically inclined try to do so as these coils are a final sale and not refundable.
