Beverage And Gas Keg Disconnects
If you opt to keg and dispense your homebrew, you will need some sort of a kegging system. Aside from the Cornelius keg, a kegging system requires different parts and accessories. Beverage and gas disconnects play a very important part, one pushes in the carbon dioxide (or other gas) into the keg, and the other is needed to dispense the beer.
Beverage and gas disconnects are made from stainless steel, plastic or a combination of both. When you are building a kegging system, you will need to know if your corny keg is a pin lock or ball lock prior to purchasing. When using keg disconnects, the colour grey usually denotes the gas disconnect, however, with more manufacturers making disconnects different colours are now being used for both liquid and gas disconnects.
