20 Gallon OBKettle
Alternative Views:

A breakthrough in the world of high quality kettles! The 304 SS OBKettle is a masterpiece. Every detail has been thought through to enhance the homebrewing experience. Crafted of stainless steel for ease of cleaning. Stay cool silicone handles on the kettle and lid serve to limit scorching. Also featuring what every brewer wants in a kettle -- graduated volume markers inside the kettle -- one at each gallon. No more need for a sight glass! The heart of the kettle is a 4mm thick Tri-Clad bottom made specifically for even heat distribution. The 1.2 proportion of the OBKettle has been scientifically designed to promote a vigorous boil and reduce off-flavours. And last of all, the OBKettle logo is laser etched on every kettle. When you have the best, show it off!

Boiling is a necessary step in brewing beer. It is done in a brew kettle where the necessary reactions take place to give the beer its flavour. During this process, the wort is also sterilized and the flavours of the hops is also released to make the beer acquire its bitter taste.

This brew kettle is just one piece of brewing equipment that should be in every home brewers arsenal in order to make a good batch of beer. The OBKettle Heavy Duty 304SS is made from durable 18 gauge 304 stainless steel. It has a tri-clad bottom which prevents the wort from caramelizing and burning on the bottom of the pan. Although stainless steel does not conduct heat compared to aluminum, it is great for induction heating. It is scientifically designed to give the pot vigorous boil and to reduce the off-flavour produced when using generic brew kettles.

The OBKettle has the capacity to hold a maximum amount of 20 gallons. The pot features internal gallon markings to determine the precise volume of wort placed inside the kettle. The riveted silicone handles allow safer handling and protects the hands from being burned. It also comes with weldless fittings for easy cleanup and replacement of parts.

We recommend you purchase this product by itself. Shipping items inside the pot increases chances of damage during shipping. We will of course ship items inside a pot if you want. But we can not assume liability for damage if you choose to do so.

It's a Beast December 6, 2017

I bought this kettle as a mash tun to replace the old coleman cooler. This kettle is well built and feels solid any time you pick it up. As a mash tun, I also bought the suggested false bottom which fit perfect. There isn't even a mm around the edge. I also bought the 6" Mash King thermometer to try and get a better internal mash temp but was concerned that the false bottom wouldn't go in with the thermometer in place. Well worry not, it does without problem. Don't really have any complaints about this kettle as of yet. Oh one last thing, a magnet will stick to the bottom but not the sides so I see no reason why an induction plate wouldn't work. I'm actually thinking of putting a 1600w one under it to control the mash temp although it won't take the weight of this beast loaded with grain so a support needs to be engineered. All in all a great kettle.

High quality for the price June 2, 2016

I have two of these, for the HLT and BK. My MT is Blichmann. The quality is excellent and comparable to Blichmann.  If you are doing a single tier system note that the handles are on the sides so you can't put them too tight together.  Also would be nice if the volume markings went lower than 12 gallons.

Love this thing! April 10, 2016

Got this kettle first thing. I read that it's best to just get a big one and have done with it. Awesome kettle. Great quality at a great price. I wish the markings went all the way to the bottom but oh well. I will etch my own.

Don't pay more for bling. This one is top quality.

Solid December 5, 2014

Picked one up from the BlackFriday sale. Thank you OBK. First impressions:
Packaging was top of of the line. I knew when I picked up the box from the post office was a quality product. Box was very heavy. Around 25lbs.

The lid is very solid, no notch on it, but not a deal breaker. Fits nicely on either handle. Handles are really solid,I do not plan to ever lift 160 pounds of wort but they likely could handle it.

The finish is much more refined then the polished stainless pots I am used to. It may just be from the higher 304 grade this pot is made of compared to most being a lower grade in the 200 range. The instructions to assemble were clear. Takes around three minutes after you find a roll of teflon tape (this should be included). The install was almost identical to a Blichmann pot, the instructions looked almost the same as well...
I bought this for the induction ready bottom. This is the first high end pot I have seen in this size ready for induction.

Preliminary review upon unpacking December 5, 2014

Just received this unit.  FYI, the etched gallon markings only show between 12 gallons and 20 gallons - there are no markings below 12.  So while they might help to determine pre-boil volume for a 10 gallon batch, they cannot measure 10 gallon post-boil volumes, or any volumes for smaller-than-10-gallon batches.  (Not sure why they stop at 12; I was hoping they would go down to at least 5 gallons.  And future improvement: add litre markings as well.)

On the plus side, there are about 2.5 inches of headroom above the 20 gallon mark.

(I was forced to give this a rating, but since I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, ignore the rating.)
