Pumpkin Pie Porter

This dessert porter is a mix of pumpkin pie and chocolate cake in your glass! Specialty malts provide a milk chocolatey profile which is combined with pumpkin spices (included) to make this a delicious, comforting, cold weather ale. An addition of lactose (milk sugar) creates a silky smooth, thick and luxurious mouthfeel and body. The right amount of hops balances the beer out for a bittersweet finish. Great for the holidays, sitting by the fire and a perfect pairing for festive meals!

OBK Pumpkin Pie Porter January 26, 2017
Reviewer: Kevin Moore from Petrolia, ON Canada
Tried this recipe, not in kit form though was late getting it going for Christmas.
First impressions... very little pumpkin flavours or smells, which is what i was looking for initially. Now, again. I didn't get a kit, and i used up some pumpkin spice in the cupboard. Maybe it was too old.
After consuming this test keg, i have to say I think I have found a great base Porter recipe. Very drinkable. Could be good with some vanilla and / or chocolate, or maybe add a little late or post boil hops on its own depending on the season.
If I wasn't looking for a pumpkin blast, my initial impression would have been, great beer! Will be doing this again soon.

Getting some good reviews! October 23, 2016
Reviewer: Greezmard from Saskatoon, SK Canada
Kegged this the in the second week of October and I hope it last till Halloween!   Even the non Stout drinkers are liking this brew! They are asking for a second glass of it!   I toned it down by adding a couple pounds less of base malt I wanted it to finish around 5% AVB.  I can't wait to drink this while enjoying the halloween eve!  It is definitely getting better each day it sits in the keg which worries me that I will run out!  I will be making this again!!!!!   Thanks OBK!
