Regulators & Accessories
If you have a draft beer system, the two most important components for dispensing your beer are the gas tank and the regulator. The gas tanks are filled with either CO 2 or Nitrogen (you can also use other gases), and the regulator controls the flow of the beer from the keg. The regulator controls the pressure of the gas released from the tank. Without it, it will be too difficult to dispense the beer as the pressure would be too intense. What will happen is that the flow would as a strong jet of water.
Regulators often come with gauges that measure the dispensing pressure to control the liquid and the pressure flow. The regulator can have one or more gauges, and they may have different functions. For Carbon dioxide air tanks, the pressure should be between 10 to 15 PSI, while Nitrogen tanks should be higher at 30 to 40 PSI. (more info below)
