Stainless Steel Tri-Clad (Induction Ready) Mash Tun Welded Brew Kettle - 10 Gallon
Tri Clad Induction Ready 10 Gallon Stainless Steel Mash Tun Welded Brew Kettle
Alternative Views:

Mashing activates the enzymes within the malted barley to convert the starch into sugar. It involves steeping of the grains in water that is also called liquor. The process of mashing can take between one to two hours and is done in a specialized pot called a mash tun.

This tri-clad induction ready mash tun features a stainless steel body with a beautiful brushed finish. It has the capacity to hold a total volume of 10 gallons of mash. It also features bolted on easy-to-grasp handles to easily move the pot within the work area.

The most important feature of this mash tun is its 5-mm tri-clad bottom, which makes it induction ready. This means that you can heat it up on the stove. The pot also features a thicker bottom which prevents the mash from getting scorched and affecting the flavour of the entire wort. The inner walls are also thicker for better heat dispersal.

It also comes with NPT couplers so that home brewers can add different accessories such as thermometers or thermowells. The package also comes with a ball valve for easy and convenient drainage of the wort. To separate the grains from the wort, a bazooka screen or trub trap may be installed.

FREE - Every Drop Dip Tube accessory, a $15 value added free to every welded kettle! The Every Drop Dip Tube is designed to thread onto the interior side of the ball valve coupler. When installed the angle can be easily adjusted to help pick up every last drop from your kettle. Make the most out of your kettle with this FREE accessory!

I like the idea of this product to be able to control my mash temperature, however, I am extremely disappointed in the quality control of this product.  Each of the welded nipples differs in its ability to thread on appropriate fittings with the worst one being the bottom nipple.  Even repeated application of teflon tape is unable to provide leak tightness so that there is a constant slow leak rendering this product non-usable.  Cannot get even a single full turn of the nipple threaded onto the welded fitting.  These nipples were clearly welded after they were threaded so that the diameter of the threading actually pinches at the weld seam.  Too much heat applied during welding with no heat sinking.  Simply testing each nipple would have discovered this issue.
