Stainless Steel Welded Graduated Brew Kettle - 16 Gallon
16 Gallon Welded Stainless Steel Advanced Brew Kettle
Alternative Views:

Buying a brew kettle is one of the largest single investments a brewer can make in their home brewery, and getting the most kettle for your budget can affect your brew day for a very long time. To help those with a limited budget get the most out of their money, we offer the 16 Gallon Stainless Steel Welded Graduated Brew Kettle.

In this kettle, we've included all of the most important features for your brew day at a price which won't break your budget. First, we used polished stainless steel, which is very durable and non reactive, ensuring you taste your beer, not your pot. The 16 gallon size is ideal for brewing 10-12 gallon batches of beer, but can also be used to brew smaller batches. In addition, the taller profile of the pot reduces the risk of boil-overs and helps get the rolling boil you need to drive off unwanted volatile compounds. The graduated markings run from 1 to 14 gallons, and are permanently embossed, so they will never wear way.

Next, we took this base pot and added two 1/2" NPT welded ports. For one port, we include a stainless steel ball valve to enable whirlpooling with a pump or siphonless wort transfer. For the other port, we include a 2" probe thermometer with an easy-to-read 3" dial, which can be upgraded to a 3, 5, or 6 inch version by request. We offer a 1/2" inch pick-up tube or a bazooka screen as optional upgrades for the ball valve, as well.

Overall, this pot is a great starter pot for ten gallon batches, and will last for years.

This is an entry level pot. It is a thinner gauge then our brand name 304SS kettles like OBKettle, Ss Brewtech, Blichmann. Some dents and minor imperfections may be on the pot.

We recommend you purchase this product by itself. Shipping items inside the pot increases chances of damage during shipping. We will of course ship items inside a pot if you want. But we can not assume liability for damage if you choose to do so.

FREE Every Drop Dip Tube accessory, a $15 value added free to every welded kettle! The Every Drop Dip Tube is designed to thread onto the interior side of the ball valve coupler. When installed the angle can be easily adjusted to help pick up every last drop from your kettle. Make the most out of your kettle with this FREE accessory!

5 of 5 Can'T go wrong January 13, 2019

I had some issue with the unit that was sent to me. OBK was amazing in making me happy Customer. Plus I was dealt with in french which was far exceeding my expectations. Now I own two of these (Boil Kettle and HLT) and can't be happier with my new setup. Sure they are thin but it made it easier on me to drill the ports I needed. Works perfect.

3 of 5 Good kettle but you get what you pay for July 12, 2018

I purchased 2 of these about 10 months apart, the first one showed up without issue and has served me well.  The second one has the ports not welded in straight for either port, they both angle upward in an awkward way.  It doesn't prevent the kettle from working but it's a fairly obvious flaw so just be aware of that.

5 of 5 Great Value November 23, 2015

Like it says, these aren't Blichmann caliber pots, but they're great value for the money.  I have two of them, one for HLT, the other a boil kettle.  I've brewed about a half dozen batches so far and they haven't leaked a drop.  If you're looking for a decent entry pot to see if all grain is for you then don't hesitate to buy these.  Take care of them and I doubt you'll lose much when it comes time to sell them and upgrade.

5 of 5 Excellent value for the price September 10, 2015
Reviewer: Steve H. from Toronto
The kettle is not heavy gauge steel (as mentioned), but doesn't feel flimsy.  Handles are spot welded, leading to minor discolouration on the interior.  Weld quality of both ports is good.

Kettle underwent a TSP soak in order to remove any residual manufacturing grease (not that I saw any) and held water with zero leaks.

Graduation marks are stamped (embossed) so they'll never wear away.

Just a note, to get your temperature gauge and ball valve oriented in the proper position, use several winds of teflon (plumber's) tape; about 8-9 did it for me.

Great value for the price.
