I have owned this kettle since September 2015. I have made about 5 batches on it so far using an electric stove for heat on 4 of them and a propane burner on 1. It has held up quite well so far. I think the added convenience of not having to worry about rubber seals (as with weldless pots) is well worth the price premium.
my one complaint is that both of the wells (thermometer and spigot) had some sort of small carbon deposits inbetween their threads. It took about 15 minutes of scrubbing with pbw to clear them. I suspect it was from the manufacturing process.
