Stainless Steel Carbonation Cap With Gas Barb
Stainless Steel Carbonation Cap with Gas Barb
Alternative Views:

This carbonator cap is a screw-on cap with an integrated Cornelius ball lock fitting. The design is in place to fit most soft drink PET bottles.

The carbonation cap is a highly effective method to add and maintain carbonation in beverages for extended periods of time. Made from 304 stainless steel, this carbonation cap will last years of use with virtually no maintenance.

With the cap, you can simply fill any old PET bottle with cold liquid of your choice and carbonate by connecting a ball lock disconnect.

Cap works great, fits the bottles easily and carbs up a big bottle of soda water in no time. I love it.

I use this when I want to bring some beer with me and want to ensure that it's well carbonated; fill from your keg, squeeze sides of container to get foam/air out, put cap on, pressurize.
Also use it at kegging time; to ensure I have a full keg I often brew a little more than a keg worth; any extra I can transfer into a PET bottle and pressurize. Just squeeze the air out, put cap on, pressurize.
I also use it to clean my beer lines; if you have MFL connections, you can connect an MFL gas disconnect to your beer line, connect to this cap, and push cleaning liquids through it.  I do so with an aquarium pump, which I drop into a container of cleaner, and I place it under the open tap, circulating it through the line and tap for as long as I'd like.  For a quick clean, one could fill a 2L bottle with cleaning solution and just squeeze it through.

5 of 5 Excellent quality October 2, 2015

I bought two of them from OBK two years ago. I carbonate juices, water and various soda flavours in the bottle with sugar/sweetener added depending on the flavouring. Make a orangina type beverage that's as good as the original. I do not use the carbonator stone, just get the juice/water etc. fridge cold (below 40 degrees F) put the carbonator cap on, put the CO2 quick disconnect on (40psi) and turn the bottle upside down. Then shake the bottle vigorously for about 15 seconds (you will see and feel lots of CO2 bubbles entering the bottle) wait maybe 10 seconds and give it a couple more good shakes. The cold water absorbs the CO2 very fast. Turn upright and remove the quick disconnect from the carbonator cap. Let it sit for half a minute then push the small inlet in the center of the carbonator cap in, to relieve the excess pressure slowly. Remove the carbonator cap and put the pop bottle lid on. I usually do 2 litre bottles, smaller bottles carbonate even quicker.

I use this with the carbonation stone. set the regulator to 35 psi. Get the water really cold. Works great. Makes soda water in about an hour.
