Stainless Steel Mesh Hop Helper - 750
Hop Helper 750 - Redesigned Hop Spider
Alternative Views:

Our most Extreme Hop Helperâ„¢. Insanely large mouth design. Provides an outstanding 44.2 in2 surface area for your hops. This equals a 250.79% increase over 4" models!

The Hop Helper 750 eliminates most pellet hop particles from escaping the boil kettle. Protecting your pumps and precious equipment from damage. Helps to keep your wort crystal clear. The wide design increases surface area where you need it. The top of the boil where your hop material is floating, not the dead spot at the bottom. This greatly increases the utilization over smaller diameter models.

The 300 series mesh is the standard for for hop straining via stainless mesh. It will stop virtually all hop material to make the clearest wort possible. Recirculate wort through the helper to assist flow. Or just simply use a spoon to remove build up of broken hop material periodically as you boil. Without circulation or occasional stirring it will clog doing what it is does, stopping almost all of your pellet material from getting in the boil.

Recommended for extreme brewers who push the limits with hops spices and adjuncts.

2 of 5 a little too fine... April 25, 2018

Solid construction, however the screen is just too fine for pellet hops.  And cleaning this thing is a daunting task; soak after soak after soak.  I've gone back to a bag.

4 of 5 Excelent Quality March 24, 2016

This thing is built beautifully, I like the tapered bottom design as it allows more surface area over volume compared to the flat bottom styles. It didnt get 5 stars, only because it is a bit hard to clean the fold, but not impossible. I've used many other hop spiders and this is my favorite by far. Some reviewers have stated that they get poor utilization due to clogging screen, that is how the product works, don't fill it to the brim and you have to stir your wort through the spider to keep it from plugging.. they all work this way.

1 of 5 Poor Product Unfortunately February 4, 2016
Reviewer: Rob Hansen from Grimsby, ON Canada
Very large opening and depth allows it to sit deep in kettle.

Thefine mesh screen stops any hop trub from getting into the wort and ultimately from clogging lines or pumps.  However, hop pellets almost immediately coat the mesh and I doubt the hop utilization was very good.  Plus, once done, good luck every truly cleaning out residue from the inside bottom fold.

Unfortunately it's a really expensive product considering its effectiveness.

2 of 5 Clogs easily January 2, 2016

Probably designed for leaf hops, as hop pellets clog the mesh to the extent of being impossible to drain the basket. Hop utilisation must suffer due to that.

1 of 5 Disappointing November 23, 2015
Reviewer: MaxB. from Toronto
I had very high hopes for this affordable hop spider. It is undeniably very well made, unfortunately it works poorly. After only ten minutes in the boil the screen became clogged with protein break. The wort inside the hop helper did not boil(measured 10*f cooler in fact) and when I lifted it out of the kettle it would not even drain. I think hop utilization must be very poor given these facts. Sorry OBK, this product is a loser.
