US Sorachi Ace Hop Pellets 1 LB

There are different types of hop varieties that are available for different kinds of brews. If you are looking for a popular and unique hop variety, the US Sorachi Ace hop pellets is a good example. The US Sorachi Ace hop pellets were first developed in 1984 for the Sapporo Breweries Ltd. It was developed between the Beikei No. 2 male, Saazer and Brewer's Gold hops varieties. This particular hop pellet is available in limited quantities but it is considered as one of the best varieties for craft brewers' hops because it imparts strong citrus, fruit, herbal and dill aromas.

The strong aroma of the US Sorachi Ace hop pellets is attributed by its high alpha acid content. It contains between 10% and 16% of alpha acids, 6% and 7.5% beta acid as well as 25% and 28% co-humulone. It also contains 2 to 22.8ml/100g total oil which is responsible for the moderately strong bitterness of the end product. This is also the reason why this particular hop variety is a dual-purpose hop. It is suitable for making different kinds of beers such as the Belgian Wit, IPA, Belgian saison and pale ale.

The US Sorachi Ace hop pellet is available in 1-lb packages which is just right for home brewers who need to create a good amount of brew. To retain the efficacy of the hop pellets after opening, make sure to consume it within six months and store it in a cool, dark and dry place as the alpha acids tend to lose 30% to 40% of its efficacy after a few months in storage.
