AlcoEngine Copper Reflux Condenser

I bought this to extract the alcohol from spoiled wine. I attached it to a 15gal keg. I heat the keg on my camp chef stove, takes about 60 minutes to get to temp. Then about 2-3 hrs to run and another while for the tails. first run was 94%, 2nd 92 and 3rd 96% I tried cooling with a pump, but the pump cannot provide the needed water pressure as the tubes are restrictive. It is also designed for lower BTU's, so you will have to dial the heat down a bit once it is going, if you are using propane. My bluetooth thermometer fits nicely, which makes it a little easier to keep an eye on everything. The hardest part was trying to make the water connections fit well and not leak.

I just received this, and my only issue is that it doesn't come with everything you need to get up and running. Specifically you need your own tubing and connectors to attach to a sink or a hose. that's not a huge deal but I wish that was indicated in the description, perhaps with a link to which size of tubing and what connectors you need so you can put them in the same order (and not have to pay another shipping fee later, or do track them down at a hardware store). Also, there's supposed to be two attachable orifices, and while there are two pieces, one of them is securely connected to the collection pipe, making the other one useless. Aside from that, it looks sturdy. I may come back and update this review after I've done a couple runs.

fantastic. I attach to a sanke keg with a 2 Tri Clamp. the cooling line is garden hose size quick disconnects and i was unable to get them off without damaging the copper so if obk sells it like that please make that clear so one can buy the correct connectors. i prefer bare copper and just clamp it down over hose. because it is only around 21 short the product has 3% room for improvement so i bought a 24 spool extension with tri clamps to make it longer and copper packing. this column comes packed with stainless steel scrubbers and not copper packing also. why they advertise 1/2 OD Barbs? someone complained they cant get the spout off and change it to the bigger or smaller hole piece... they didn't know how to use 2 wrenches. it just takes a bit of muscle. overall fantastic machine. thanks OBK for this awesome thing. also... don't forget you need to know how to unscrew the bottom ring/flange thingy to attach it to your lid or sanke. that needs to be seperated for sankes

i havent used this yet but i cant get the 2" tc clamp on with the gasket in place to attach it to a keg.
