This steam condenser/distillation lid is made out of stainless steel and is designed to be used with the 35L BrewZilla All Grain Brewing System. When attached to a BrewZilla unit it enables the use of AlcoEngine stills which allow for you to distill liquors.

The 3" Tri-Clover sight glass port allows hop/salt additions without having to remove the lid making it perfect for indoor brewing. Meanwhile the Polyphenylsulfone cap provides a high temperature and chemical resistant viewing port that is also extremely impact resistant. The choice of Polyphenylsulfone was chosen as the desired material due to it's superior thermal and mechanical properties while still being transparent.

It comes with a thick silicone gasket and has a 2" Tri-Clover center port.

Useful with steam condenser, but can't see in

I bought this lid to use with the Brewzilla steam condenser. Once you add the Tri-Clover Weldless Bulkhead Fitting to the plain AlcoEngine Lid you are at 2/3 of the price of this lid which already has the tri-clover port built in. Being able to monitor the boil activity through the viewport sounded like a good idea, but unfortunately didn't actually work out. Pros: The insulated handles are nice when removing a hot lid. Even with brewing gloves, the condenser and lid are too hot to hold for more than a couple of seconds. The 3" viewport is more convenient for adding boil additions, especially whole hops, than the smaller 2" port at the top of the condenser. Cons: You can't actually see anything through the viewport. It's always covered in condensation. It needs a windshield wiper on the inside. I ended up temporarily removing the port at the top of the condenser to check on the boil instead. The slope where the viewport is located makes the cover want to slide off, so it can be a bit of a juggling act to get the gasket, cover and 3 piece tri-clover clamp back on again.

A MUST HAVE!

Excellent product by far for any distiller. I highly recommend to buy this lid over the regular distilling lid. Arrived on time, no damage, packaged perfectly. OBK never fails to deliver! Thnx guys!
