Good Kit When Tweaked

Brewed this as my third full boil batch. Although I'm happy with the result, I did have to add some additional LME to make it up to the recommended OG. It came with a full pound of dextrose, maybe I was supposed to add this to the boil, rather than save it for priming? The instructions are not the greatest, in my opinion. Dry hopped in secondary with 1 oz of bravo hops, final result was a well rounded hoppy / malty 5.5% alcohol black IPA.

Solid. Right On Style.

This is true to the style, and I have had a LOT of black IPAs. Hops are just right. I'm guessing people that got light on the hop flavour either did partial boil or used a hop sock, I added directly as you should with pellets, and used no dextrose in the brew. Final Abv came out around 5.9-6%.

Very Malt Forward

Not bad of a kit, tasty, nice bitterness some hoppy ness, mainly malt forward of chocolate an roasted coffee, hop flavour is their, finishes nicely

Good Beer, Lots Of Flavor

I'm trying to let it age but it's not working out too well. It's not over powering on the hops but bitter enough. I will be brewing it again soon!

Good Simple Recipe

Pretty good basic recipe, a little heavy on the dark malt. Becomes better with age.
