This recipe kit creates a very dark, roasty, and creamy ale with aromas of coffee-like roast, hints of chocolate, and floral/citrus hops. The flavour includes roasted grain, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, caramel, and mild bitterness. To add complexity, toasted oak chips and vanilla beans are included in the kit. Add both after fermentation is completed and age to taste (typically 1-2 weeks). As this is a recipe kit it does not contain alcohol, it includes ingredients required to brew your own. It is designed for homebrewers seeking a rich, flavourful holiday stout with added depth.

Primary To Secondary

I began brewing this beer mid November 80-85 efficiency. Crashed chilled with wort chiller, added 1/2 oak and 1 chopped bean. Left in primary for 3 weeks. Racked over today, great aroma already, smooth look and dark. Sample taste, lovely chocolate flavour with a soft oak taste. Hydrometer reading indicating 5.3%. Have 1/4 oak and chopped bean soaking in spiced rum. Will add to secondary 2 days before Kegging. Based on my experience with this beer already, itâ€™s up there in my top 3 home brews I made.

Christmas Stout

really good stout used only half the oak chips and the full 2 vanilla beans cut and soaked in bourbon for 2 weeks before adding to secondary for a week. First sip only 1 week after in the keg and was already amazing not sure how old it will get before its all gone!

Unbelievable Stout

Best Stout I brewed to date, the vanilla and oak flavors come through well but are not over bearing. Silky smooth with just the right amount of head retention. Serving it through the OBK stout faucet which gives a perfect pour.
