FermFast Ceramic Raschig Rings work great as a boil enhancer and for column filling. The large surface area and low cost make them a highly effective material. Traditionally they have a longer lifespan then copper mesh scourers.

It is usually recommended that for a 2 or 3 inch column to use a pound of raschig rings with copper mesh.
