The Kegland Triple Scale Hydrometer is a needed tool for any homebrewer. The hydrometer is an essential tool for testing, starting and finishing beer gravity, or sugar content, in beer or wine fermentations. All hydrometers have been calibrated in comparison with a standard of the same sensitivity and the same diameter, in a homogeneous liquid of constant temperature.

Good Hydrometer, Great Price

I ordered two after I had my only hydrometer broke during a brew session. Great price, but the two hydrometers read differently on the same sample of liquid; one is about 4 gravity points higher than the other. A spot made with Sharpie on the top now identifies the inaccurate one that serves as my back-up.

Good Purchase

Shipped with a protective case around it. Does the job, and came in 2 days from Mitchell to Toronto.

Excellent Hydrometer

This hydrometer is well priced and easy to use. Obviously it is fragile since it is made of glass. Always put it back in the case as soon as possible and don't put it in hot liquids to avoid thermal stress. It's not pyrex people!

Always Keep Spares

Gives very accurate readings when checking gravity. Since these are glass and very well priced, it is a good idea to pick up a couple of spares in case you end up breaking one on brew day.

This hydrometer met all of my needs. It is very well calibrated and works as expected...and the price is right!

Can't Beat The Price

Always have a few of these in your lab kit as they are delicate. Having shopped around extensively, this is the best price I have seen. For just a few dollars it makes sense to get at least one or two backups.
