Traditionally used for brewing Light American Lagers and Cream Ales, Flaked Corn is an excellent brewing ingredient that can enhance the complexity of any beer. It is often regarded as a lighting agent in beers, which helps to achieve very light colour in commercial lagers. However, when used correctly and within reasonable proportions, Flaked Corn can add a pleasant creamy texture and flavour to the beer, which is a welcome trait in certain beer styles. The best results are obtained when the rate doesn't exceed 30% of the total grain bill. Flaked Corn is a very interesting ingredient that can be used in a very broad range of styles, from Light Lagers to Stouts and Porters.
