This o-ring is USA FDA approved and made out of food grade silicone which has a durometer (hardness) of 70A for penetration resistance. In addition the silicone can be used across a temperature range from -54C (-65 Fahrenheit) to 204C (400 Fahrenheit). This particular o-ring is needed for heating elements.
