Dried Mugwort is a very traditional spice used in the brewing days prior to hops. Mugwort will produce a sage-like aroma in beer. It was generally used in holiday ales, smoked beers and Belgian specialty beers. It can be complemented with use of orange peel, juniper and/or licorice root.
