Stainless Steel Side Pick Up Tube - 1/2" Male NPT | 3/8"

Pick-up tubes are simple accessories that home brewers can install on their brew kettles or kegs. They are used to effectively pick up the wort that has collected at the bottom of the kettles to clean out every last drop of wort that you have. It is also used to avoid breaking the hops by creating a whirlpool at the bottom of the pot so that the liquid can be easily picked up from the edge of the pot. It can also be installed in an immersion chiller.

This stainless steel pick-up tube has a stainless steel construction thus making it rust and corrosion-proof. It has a length of 2.75 inches in length with an outer tube diameter of 3/8". The length of the tube is created and designed to be compatible with a standard bulkhead kit. The outer tube has a 3/8" diameter to ensure a good and steady flow of the wort. The tube also comes with a 1/2" male pipe thread for easy installation. The pick-up tube works well with 9, 15 or 19 stainless steel flat-bottom brew kettles. Choose a longer pick up tube for larger brew kettles.

To install this stainless steel pick-up tube, drill a hole near the base of the brew kettle and hand tighten the compression nut until the tube does not move. A wrench can also be used to tighten the pick-up tube. There is no need to use a compression ring or O-rings, but home brewers can also opt for a leak-free connection. Adding a spigot can be done at the outer portion of the brew kettle using the 1/2" male NPT.
