Ss Brewtech Brew Bucket Fermenter - 7 Gallon

Now that Ive used these fermenters for over a year, I felt it was time leave a review. If you are a frugal brewer who doesnt mind a long, laborious brew day, then these probably arent worth the investment. These fermenters really simplify the fermentation/cleanup process. I can have these cleaned, sanitized and broken down in less than 5 minutes. Secondary additions are a breeze, and racking from them is hassle free. Unlike carboys, I am always confident that they are more than well cleaned for the next brew. I particularly like the thermowells in the upgraded version...Im not a big fan of their thermometer units, but they're alright. My only negative remark would be the spigot seal/orings. They are a bit touchy, and can leak if you under/over tighten. Otherwise, great product!

Great quality, super easy to clean and no more siphoning. The o-rings for the valve could be more heavy duty though.

When OBK first started carrying these they were cheaper due to a stronger Canadian dollar. I was lucky to pick one up uring a flash sale for a very reasonable price.I bought it a month away from moving, so it sat in the box for the first month. I took it out of the box to clean and assemble it and it sat idle again for a couple months. When I finally decided to brew, gave it another clean and sanitized it which was a breeze! Fermentation was as normal but I was a little sad that I couldn't watch the magic happen like in a glass carboy. Today was kegging day which was even easier. This thing is the step up from glass or plastic without jumping into a full conical. Its impressive.I saw I waited too long because I would have wanted one of these from the start but I waited long enough to get a good price. Highly reccomended.

I have been fermenting in one of these for almost a year now. It is super easy to clean and sanitize. Everything seals perfectly, and it fits nicely into my mini-fridge fermentation chamber. It might be an idea to pick up a longer dip tube for my not so hoppy beers...but this fermenter seems to be constantly filled with an IPA anyway.

First, perfect transaction on the part of OBK, as usual.Out of the box, assembly is easy and direct good seals and hinges, A bit of a exercise in putting the seal for the lid back on, took a minute or two of patience.The three week fermentation was uneventful, good. Finished up my first brew and very pleased. Not much difference from the old bucket, a bucket is a bucket, right... Nope!Drawing the beer off was a dream, hooked up my hose and straight into the keg. Beautiful clear beer, and when it was done, I was left with the yeast cake and the trub with about 2 cups of beer.Here is the bonus, clean up was a dream, no effort at all. A bit more attention should be provided to the O-rings for the valve as they look a bit flimsy. There was no problem rotating the pickup arm, so perhaps the design is good. Stackable, why yes they are.Price point is unquestionable. Am I going to buy another, YEP after all they are stackable.

This fermenting vessel looks beautiful and works even better!The lid is easy to attach and lock into place compared to other stainless / conical fermenting vessels I've used.The small weld-less ball valve and racking arm that is included installs easily and seals perfectly without tools (ie: hand-tighten). Also nice to see that a couple spare o-rings are included for future use.My only complaint is the size of the bung hole on the lid - it's very small and I wonder why the standard sized hole that accepts a #7 stopper wasn't used instead here. However, the unit does come with an appropriately sized, cored bung.My favourite feature: the handles! Makes it very easy to transport the unit when empty or full.

For an entry level stainless fermenter, SS brew tech has figured this out. The ball valve and rotating arm work nicely together. Paired with the ftss system, it works out to be the cost of a chronical. After having one for 2 years, I bought another. Only flaw is the rubber feet in my opinion, no big deal though since I bought it for the steel!

Have two of these, they're solid, do what they say they'll do. I really like being able to transfer from the bottom port, getting away from siphons is nice. Easy to clean. Handles are a little rough on the hands carrying it full, would be nice if they has some padding or something. The feet seem to wear out very fast, so both of mine now have somewhat sharp edges to the feet. One incredibly handy thing if you do no chill is that you can transfer to it hot and chill right in the fermentor, great for doing a really quick batch in the winter - mash, boil, transfer and stick it in the cold. Would buy again (again).

I sold of every carboy I had to obtain this fermenter and I am extremely glad and overly satisfied that I did.

I've fermented in Glass and Plastic Carboys, as well as plastic fermenting buckets. My first run using this Stainless Conical Fermenter has been fantastic. I racked the wort into the fermenter, and cooled it with my immersion chiller. It cooled really quickly (the stainless helped to dissipate the heat?). After pitching I set it down with some other batches I had on the go (one plastic, and one glass carboy). 10 days later I opened all the batches up to take gravity readings. The cream ale (SG 1.054) had dropped to 1.012. 42 points in 10 days is pretty damn good! this is just amazing! Really well built, worth every penny! Will be buying a second one for sure!

I have been fermenting in plastic buckets until purchasing this product.Stainless steel, weld-less value connection make cleaning a breeze. Very good quality and well packaged. So happy with the first one that I bought I ordered another one!
