The Ss Brewtech 1.5" TC CIP Micro Spray Ball is made of strong 304 stainless steel. It features a standard 1.5" TC lid size allowing it to be used with any 1.5" TC accessories. Measures 4" in height and has a 1" diameter spray ball.

Let me preface this by asking "Do you need a spray ball?" In truth, they really are unnecessary until you've scaled up to sizes where you can't reach everywhere with a flexible carboy brush. Setting them up tends to be slower than hand-scrubbing, and it is easier to do a thorough job by hand. That being said, they are pretty darn cool, and it gives you the ability to walk away for 20 minutes while your vessel is cleaning itself! Onto the review itself: The spray ball I received is "crunchy" and doesn't spin freely; I assume there is a defect, but the unit can't be disassembled. According to SS Brewtech's website it should be fine to run on 7GPM pumps such as Chugger pumps, but because it doesn't spin freely, I can only get it to work if I start spinning it by hand while the pump is running (and getting soaked in the process). With MUCH larger pumps (1HP) it has no problem spinning if it is in the hanging vertical position. If it is mounted on an angle or horizontally it will not rotate. It's proven to be a waste of money for me. I'm going to try one of the unbranded spray balls instead.
